Thought since we had the famous Williams Lake Stampede this month - a four day event that features some wonderful entertainment and honouring a way of living that has been set in the Cariboo for a long time. Originally it began as some local cowboys getting together to entertain the visitors on the train and stage coach that passed through town and show off their skills. It is a rich part of the history and the culture.
I began volunteering with my mother who did it for many years with my dad and she missed having someone to share it with. I do admit that there are events I won't watch and when I am in the infield I send all the animals healing and love. Mostly all the people involved are hard working ranchers so they treat the animals well. Should I see someone who doesn't, I send them messages on other levels and usually it changed the behaviour. I am pretty sure I am the only vegetarian there and I do have to pack my own lunch and food lol. I do really enjoy all the people I see and meet, as well those boys/men and women are tremendous athletes.
One year when I was in the infield with the bull riders watching the mountain race, one of the bull riders said, "Wow, them guys are crazy!" and Sharon thought, well doesn't that just put it in perspective 'The bull riders, think the mountain racers are crazy and I think'...well you get the picture lol. Kind of puts it all in perspective.

Anyway...This week's message is about saddling up and preparing for that mountain race of your life. The Mountain Race is On and so Cow Girl up and Get Ready to Ride!
The cowgirls in the old west were a tough lot and tapping into that strength of our goddess energy from that time can help get things done and stay in the saddle during our toughest rides.
