Keep Calm and L♥ve the Life Y♥u Live with Sharon Taphorn
I remember the first time I really listened to the words I was singing to the song, 'Love the One Your With' by Crosby Stills and Nash...
"And if you can't be with the one you love, honey Love the one you're with"
I remember thinking how wise that thought really is. There truly is no point wallowing away in self pity or feeling sad that someone doesn't want to be with you that you love, be them lover or friend.
We can't always be with the ones we love like our family and friends. Sometimes they move away, move on or just become unavailable to us on some other level and it is okay to feel that sadness for a moment and then it is important to move on. If you have loved someone and lost, and most of us have at some point in our lives, it isn't always easy, but it is part of living a human life governed by free will that is also finite. Some will come and all will eventual go on in one manner or another. Remember to look around and see the others that are there. The possibilities that exist for you are truly endless.
Whenever I loved and lost along the way I reminded myself to not live in the past of what might have been, but to live in the now, in essence, to love the one I am with, whomever that may be, and that didn't always mean a someone, as sometimes it was just me, myself and I. So, when I saw this 'Keep Calm' poster it reminded me of a philosophy that I had adopted that has pulled me through some difficult times over the past few years.
Over the past four and half years of my healing journey I frequently adjusted that little saying to remind myself to keep calm and just love and accept where I was right now as I wasn't anywhere else for whatever reason and the only place to go to here is here anyway.
Keep Calm and Love the Life You Live! Simple and divine, yet we seem to make it so much more complex in our wanting for so much more. You are where you are and it is what it is and you have what you have and so Love the Life you Live regardless. By adopting this philosophy I am actually enjoying my life more while living on a lot less and yet feeling like I have so much more. I guess that means that how I view my life has changed and what is most important has changed for me. And, by living this philosophy, I am also beginning to see that I am creating a life I love live right now and I look forward to what the day brings to me, the beauty I see awakening all around me and the opportunities I desire opening up for me, even as some are closing.
There is always something of beauty somewhere in your life to focus your attention on while you learn to love the life you live and as you do that, you find other things that you love and pretty soon life begins to look better and brighter and well, it always does get better with time and really the time we have is now so why not just have things get better right now and be done with agonising process of letting go of what you really don't want anyway. Just pull that bandage off quickly and smoothly and not prolong the pain of enduring a slower process (unless of course you really want to and then well, just enjoy that too since that is where you are).
I was going to add a you tube video of the song "love the One your With", but then I found this one and it gave me a chuckle as it is definitely a sign to Carry On and Sparkle...
